A New Mayor~ Latest News From The City

Thursday June 9th a new Mayor was appointed by the City Council.  With a vote of 5-1 Mayor David Nixon was appointed Mayor and sworn in by Judge Duffy.  Mayor Nixon then took his seat and the gavel and ran the rest of the meeting.

The City Council also voted on two issues.  See them below and click on a document to enlarge it.

The first document is authorization for a bridge loan to pay Marler Engineering and is a short term     loan to be paid back when the grant monies start to come into the City.

The document below is a new Sub-Lease to the folks who bought the golf course.




The City also needs 2 people for the Planning and Zoning Board.
The Ordinance Committee also need another member.

June Work Shop

A workshop at City Hall will be at 6:30 this evening June 19th.
Candidates for mayor will be there and get to speak.
A short presentation about the golf course will be given as it is being acquired by a new owner.

Bull Shoals Library Drawing For Kindle Paper White E-reader.

The drawing for a new KINDLE PAPERWHITE E-reader with CHARGER will be held at the end of the training. (need not be present to win)

Marion County Library (MCL) staff will be on-site at the Bull Shoals Library to demonstrate the system and how easy it is to use.  

Membership to MCL is required and can be done free of charge at these trainings.  Membership to Bull Shoals Library may also be done at that time ($5)

If you own a KINDLE or other E-reader but don’t know how to use a library E-book program, bring it with you.  

We will have E-readers available for the training.

If you are curious about how an E-reader works, come for the training.

If you always wanted an E-reader now is your chance!  Raffle tickets will be sold at the library during regular hours and until the end of the last training on Saturday - $5 each or 5 for $20.

Happenings In Bull Shoals Saturday June 10th

This Saturday June 10th is happening in Bull Shoals.  Art In The Park begins at 9:00 AM. at Danseur Park.  The VFW is serving Tacos from 4-6 PM.  2 Tacos for $3.00 and then the Theatre has Waylon & Willie and the Good Ole Boys starting at 6:00 PM.  Admission to the Theatre is only $17.00
Sounds like a full day of fun in our little town on the lake.

Art In The Park June 10th

Art in the park is this Saturday June 10th at Danseur Park in Bull Shoals.  The park is located on Maryland rd off of  Hwy 178 in Bull Shoals.  Last minute sign ups welcome.  Call Gary at 870-321-2766  Fun starts at 9:00 AM- Beer available.

Resignations of Dave Hotchkiss and Officer James Rhodes

Formal resignation letters from Dave Hotchkiss (formerly Mayor) and Officer Rhodes (Bull Shoals Police Dept).  As per City ordinances the Recorder/Treasurer will as as Mayor Mayor pro-temp until the regular session of the city council meeting on the last Thursday of this month when the Council will appoint a Mayor.  The council wishes both gentleman well.  (click on an item to enlarge).
